Gymnastics for pre-schoolers
What is Kindergym?
Kindergym is a special general gymnastics programme for kids who are just walking, through to 4-5-year-olds who are getting ready for school.
The programme focusses on fun, balance, fundamentals, variety and growth.
Sessions run Monday to Friday, with times depending on the age of the gymnast.

Note that gymnasts in the "Kindy Kids" group must be attending 4-year-old kinder.
How does it work?
Our classes have a different theme every 2 weeks, to allow gymnasts to get used to the set up. Some recent themes include Superheroes, Pirates, Australian Animals and Under the Sea. In the 2ish, 2-3 years and 3-4 year-old groups, the children have a parent or carer with them to help with their adventures. The 4+ group is designed to help prepare for school, including activities such as taking turns and following (fun) instructions.
The first 10-15 minutes of class is free-play time, followed by group time (often including action songs and games to develop fine-motor skills), then a 'circuit' (like an obstacle course for tots, with different activities to try around the gym - this is where gymnastic skill development takes place). The class ends special time for cuddles with mum or dad (or grandma/grandpa...).
Do the gymnasts use real equipment?
Our Kindergymnasts have the benefit of attending a permanently set-up gymnastic club, so they experience activities around bars, rings, beams, trampolines and other equipment unique to gymnastics. Each set-up also includes special equipment and apparatus designed with little hands and feet in mind.
Are the coaches qualified?
All our Kindergym coaches are accredited with Gymnastics Australia. They are all mums themselves as well as being qualified school teachers.
What to wear?
Comfortable clothes which will not catch are fine for Kindergym. T-shirt and shorts or track pants are ideal. Barefoot is best, and perfectly safe as we have gym matting throughout our facility. Do bring a drink bottle with you though!
